What do you learn? ...There are 5 crowns mentioned that a believer can receive; there are numerous rewards for things such as persecution, being a faithful witness, teacher, pastor, etc. We even get rewards for giving a drink of water to the least of His disciples. The test is if it is for His glory or for our own? Things done with the wrong motive will burn up; things done for Him will remain and be rewarded.

Revelation Worksheet - Chapter 18

REVELATION 18

Note: Chapter 17 & 18 go together because the subject of the destruction of Babylon the Great continues ... Although there are many ideas of who and what Babylon of the last days is ... I believe that it is a literal city that the antichrist will have for his headquarters on the Euphrates. (land of Shinar/modern day Iraq area) I get this from many different Old Testament prophetic Scriptures that would take me awhile to build upon if we were in a class together on this subject alone. For the sake of reading through chapter by chapter, I will leave you with some verses, but I don't have the ability to break it all down for you like I would in a course over time. (Zech. 5:11, Jer. 50:4-9; 51:6; 51:61-64) ... From what I have studied, I believe it is a global political-commercial system that becomes the means and basis of a new worldwide religious system by which the antichrist (beast) will be worshipped (Rev.13). If you recall, the beast brings about his own worship by his control of commerce, or buying and selling to everyone that has his mark on their forehead or right hand.

-------------------------------

  1. John saw another angel coming down from heaven. How does he describe this angel? vs. 1 - Name 2 things
  2. What did the angel cry out? vs. 2a
  3. What did he say Babylon had become? vs.2b - Name 3 things
  4. What influence from Babylon made the nations drunk? vs. 3a
  5. What had the kings of the earth committed with Babylon? vs. 3b
  6. How did the merchants of the earth become rich from Babylon? vs. 3c
  7. John heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people." ... What did he not want them to participate in and why? vs. 4
  8. Read 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 and compare these Scriptures and the context of the meanings.
  9. How high had Babylon's sins piled up so that God was now remembering her iniquities? vs. 5
  10. What consequences was she to receive for the deeds she had done? vs. 6
  11. She glorified herself and she lived sensously. To the degree that she had done that was the degree that she would have torment and mourning. What did she say in her heart? vs. 7
  12. For this reason because she did not believe she would ever see mourning, what will come upon her in one day? vs. 8 - Name 4 things
  13. Who is her strong judge? vs. 8
  14. What will the kings of the earth (who committed acts of immorality and lived sensously with her) do when they see the smoke of her burning? vs. 9
  15. Standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, what will these kings say? vs. 10
  16. Why will the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her? vs. 11
  17. What type of cargoes were they? vs.11-13 - There are about 28 items listed if you want to list them here:
  18. What has passed away from Babylon and will not be found again? vs. 14
  19. The merchants who became rich from her will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning. (vs.15). What will they say? vs. 16
  20. What happens to Babylon in just one hour? vs. 17a
  21. What do the shipmasters, passengers, sailors, and everyone who makes a living by the sea stand at a distance and cry out? vs. 17-19
  22. Who are the ones that rejoice at her judgment? vs. 20 - Name 4 groups
  23. Why has God pronounced jugment against her? vs. 20
  24. What does John see a strong angel doing and what does he say? vs. 21
  25. What sounds will not be found in Babylon any longer? vs. 22a - Name 4
  26. There will not be any craftsmen or crafts found or the sound of a mill any longer ... the light of a lamp will shine no longer ... the voice of the bridegroom and bride will be heard no longer ... because their merchants were the great men of earth, what had happened to all the nations? vs. 23c
  27. Whose blood was Babylon guilty of? vs. 24 - Name 3 groups
  28. Today the global one-world government is not yet in existence, but the spirit and harlotry is in every nation where there is pressure to elevate self and be one's own god. Sensuality is all that is in our entertainment industry anymore. Don't you see the spirit of harlotry in every corner you turn? What does James 4:4-5 tell us? How can you respond today to God's plea to you in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 that you looked up in the lesson?

If you research commentaries, you will get different views on the mystery of Babylon, Mother of Harlots. I suggest you study the history of Babylon and see the spiritual implication most of all; the immorality spoken of in the literal text and see a system of corruption that would come from the influence of the beast to come. I have prayed for all of you and for myself that the Lord will give us understanding and wisdom and the desire to know Him and follow His ways according to His Word now and forever. Amen.

Revelation Worksheet - Chapter 16

REVELATION 16

  1. What did John hear the loud voice from the temple say to the 7 angels who had the 7 bowls full of the wrath of God? vs. 1
  2. Describe what the 1st angel's bowl brought to the earth. vs. 2
  3. What people were effected by this plague? vs. 2

  6. Describe what the 3rd angel's bowl brought to the earth. vs. 4
  7. What did John hear the angel of the waters praising God about in regard to this bowl being poured out? vs. 5
  8. Why did the angel of the waters say that these people deserved for this to happen to them? vs. 6
  9. What did John hear the altar saying? vs. 7
  10. Who are the ones beneath the altar talking? Look back at Revelation 6:9-11.
  11. Describe what the 4th angel's bowl brought to the earth. vs. 8
  12. What did the people do who received this plague rather than repent and give God glory? vs. 9
  13. Describe what the 5th angel's bowl brought to the earth. vs. 10
  14. What did they do when they were in pain and with sores; did they turn to God for help? vs. 11
  15. Describe what the 6th angel's bowl did to the Euphrates River and why. vs. 12
  16. When you look at a map of the Euphrates river, where would kings from the east be in respect to the land of Israel?

Note: The ultimate explanation is therefore relatively a simple one. By an act of God the Euphrates River is dried up. This makes easy the descent of the tremendous army of two hundred million men upon the land of Israel to participate in the final world conflict. If such an army is to be raised up, it would be natural to conclude that it would come from Asia, the great population center of the world. Although they seem to come in opposition to the Roman ruler and his power, it is clear that this invasion springs from unbelief and these armies like the others gathered “to the battle of that great day of God Almighty” forget their individual conflicts to oppose the coming of Jesus Christ in power and glory from heaven. The fact that the rise of Asia has occurred in our twentieth century with so many rapid and unexpected developments is another evidence that the world is moving toward its final climax and the end of the times of the Gentiles. In Asia, as in other parts of the world, the stage is being set for the final drama in which the kings of the east will have their important part. Taken from John F. Walvoord
  17. As the Euphrates was drying up, what did John see coming out of the mouth of the dragon (Satan), the beast (Antichrist), and the false prophet? vs. 13
  18. What are these spirits? vs. 14 .... What do they perform? vs. 14 ...
  19. Who is gathered to come together for war through these demonic spirits? vs. 14
  20. What great day in HIStory will this be? vs. 14
  21. John inserts a word of encouragement to stay awake and clothed to not have shame for He is coming like a thief. Compare the following Scriptures; write them out if you would like. Matthew 24:43; Luke 12:39; 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:4; 2 Peter 3:10.
  22. Where was the place that the 3 demonic spirits gathered the kings of the earth to? vs. 16

  23. What did the loud voice that came out of the temple from the throne say when the 7th angel poured out his bowl upon the "air"? vs. 17
  24. Describe what the 7th angel's bowl brought to the earth. vs. 18 - Name 3 final things
  25. What is significant about this great earthquake? vs. 18
  26. What happened to the great city because of the earthquake? vs. 19
  27. What happened to the cities of the nations during this earthquake? vs. 19
  28. What was happening to Babylon the Great? vs. 19
  29. What happened to every island and every mountain? vs. 20
  30. How much did the hailstones weigh that fell on men? vs. 21
  31. Will this severe plague cause the men to repent and turn to God? How will they react toward God when this happens? vs. 21

Note: Again the reaction of the world is not repentance, but to curse God because of His righteous judgment. How can people prepare to survive these times? They cannot survive them. The only way to prepare is to be prepared to die for our faith and to stand before God Almighty, one by one. True Christians will be raptured out of the wrath of God. There is debate about if they will go through some of the tribulation period or not. What really matters is preparation. How many times does the Lord say to "be ready"; to "be alert"? ....You may be asking how to make ourselves ready to meet the Lord .... Nothing we can do of ourselves can make us acceptable in His presence. All we can do, all we must do, is to accept the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ our sacrifice, and by believing be declared just in God's sight. ..... Are you prepared to face death? Will you be willing to die for your faith? Those who attempt to save their life by worshipping the beast, by bowing to his image or receiving his mark will surely die and be lost for all eternity. Those who give their life refusing to bow to Satan will live again, and spend eternity with the Lord their Creator. How will you prepare and how will you share this lesson with your neighbor?

Revelation Worksheet - Chapter 15

REVELATION 15

Note: This chapter is the introduction to the final judgments to cleanse the world from evildoers so that a kingdom of righteousness can be established on the earth. The judgments themselves are described in chapter 16 in the 7 bowls poured out.
  1. John saw another great and marvelous sign in heaven. What did he see? vs.1a
  2. These are the last of the plagues. What is finished when they are finished? vs. 1b
  3. John saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire. Who was standing on the glass? vs. 2
  4. What were they holding? vs. 2
  5. What were they singing? vs. 3a
  6. What words did they say? vs. 3b
  7. As the praise continues from their mouths, what do they say all nations will do and why? vs. 4

Note: The song is one of victory like the song Moses wrote telling about Israel’s deliverance from Pharaoh’s army at the Red Sea (Pharaoh was a type or foreshadow of the Beast).

God supernaturally delivered Israel and then destroyed Pharaoh and his army in the red sea. This was a foreshadow of the destruction of the Beast and the casting of the Beast alive into the Lake of Fire (a Red Sea).

They also sing a song of eternal redemption through the blood of the Lamb. In their song they proclaim the holiness of God and sing that all nations shall come and worship before Jesus after the final judgments are poured out.
  8. After these things, John looked. What was opened in heaven? vs. 15a
  9. Who came out of the temple? vs.15b
  10. How were they clothed? vs. 15c
  11. What did 1 of the 4 living creatures give to the 7 angels? vs. 7
  12. What were they full of? vs. 7
  13. Why did the temple fill with smoke at that time? vs. 8
  14. When could someone enter the temple again? vs. 8

Note: The seven golden vials full of the wrath of God are given to the seven great angels by one of the four living Beasts that surround the throne of God. The hierarchy in heaven remains consistent. After this is done the temple is filled with smoke from the glory of God and no one is able to enter into the temple until the seven plagues are fulfilled. This is indicating that the judgment is firm and there will be no intercession before God to delay or intercede against these judgments. Since those on earth have rejected God’s mercy (Jesus) the only thing they have left to receive is God's wrath.
  15. Summarize the chapter and post a prayer if you like.

The 7 bowls will be poured forth in tomorrow's reading in Chapter 16 of Revelation ...
