Revelation Worksheet - Chapter 18

REVELATION 18

Note: Chapter 17 & 18 go together because the subject of the destruction of Babylon the Great continues ... Although there are many ideas of who and what Babylon of the last days is ... I believe that it is a literal city that the antichrist will have for his headquarters on the Euphrates. (land of Shinar/modern day Iraq area) I get this from many different Old Testament prophetic Scriptures that would take me awhile to build upon if we were in a class together on this subject alone. For the sake of reading through chapter by chapter, I will leave you with some verses, but I don't have the ability to break it all down for you like I would in a course over time. (Zech. 5:11, Jer. 50:4-9; 51:6; 51:61-64) ... From what I have studied, I believe it is a global political-commercial system that becomes the means and basis of a new worldwide religious system by which the antichrist (beast) will be worshipped (Rev.13). If you recall, the beast brings about his own worship by his control of commerce, or buying and selling to everyone that has his mark on their forehead or right hand.

  28. Today the global one-world government is not yet in existence, but the spirit and harlotry is in every nation where there is pressure to elevate self and be one's own god. Sensuality is all that is in our entertainment industry anymore. Don't you see the spirit of harlotry in every corner you turn? What does James 4:4-5 tell us? How can you respond today to God's plea to you in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 that you looked up in the lesson?
  29. Summarize the chapter and post a prayer if you would like.
