Joseph planted his silver cup in Benjamin's sack and then said he would keep him as a slave and the rest could go home for they were 'innocent'. The brothers were dealing with all of their guilt and shame of the pain they had caused their father back with selling Joseph 20 years ago and they now are repentant. They bow down to Joseph, as lord of Egypt, not knowing 'who' he is at this time, and they ask for mercy. They will take Benjamin's place; only please let him go home to his heart broken father. |

Application:
Joseph could look back through all the years of rejection and suffering and see that God had a purpose in all of it to bring them to that very moment in history. We need to realize that although we do not know the future, we do know who holds the future and trust Him with the plan He is working together for us. |
