Review & Intro: In Deuteronomy Chapter 25, Israel was to remember what Amalek had done to them in attacking them from the rear and taking advantage of those who was straggling behind, weak and frail. We looked at the weakness of our flesh and how the enemy takes advantage of us today. Yet, we also saw how the Lord is our refuge and strength, praying for us in times of weakness, helping us to overcome by faith. We saw how we need to encourage one another in the battle of life to keep the faith. In Chapter 26, Israel is told what they are to do when they reap the harvest of the first produce of the land they are entering into; how they are to bring the first of the produce of the land in a basket to the Lord and worship Him and rejoice in His goodness, being thankful for all that He has blessed them with, and yet never forgetting where they came from. Amen.

We won't cover the story of Joseph in this lesson, but we are seeing how Jacob (Israel) arrived in Egypt to become as Deuteronomy 26:5 says ... "a great, mighty, and populous nation"... They all moved to Egypt and lived in the land of Goshen where they experienced great favor and success.
