The first book (letter) from Peter is letting us know that we will suffer for the cause of Christ, but that our inheritance is reserved in heaven and we will be rewarded for living a life of humility and faithfulness. We are told that the unbelievers will persecute us and falsely malign us, but Christ is our example of looking to our Heavenly Father for strength and grace to make it. In this last chapter, we have been told that the devil is prowling about seeking to devour our faith. Let us remember that God has not forsaken us and that He will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish us. To God be the Glory. Amen.
