2 PETER 3     Why did Peter write these believers a "second" letter? vs.1 What is he reminding them about? What 2 things does he want them to remember about God's words? vs.2 He wants them to know first of all, that in the last days, mockers will come, following after their own lusts (vs.3)...What will they be asking (in a mocking way)? vs. 4 When they say these things, what are they not believing about creation and the first destruction of the world? vs.5,6 What is God's Word reserving the present heavens and earth for? vs. 7 Peter does not want us to let one fact escape our notice. What is equivalent to one day with the Lord? vs. 8 ... What is equivalent to 1000 years with the Lord? vs. 8 The Lord is not slow about bringing the promise of His return. Why is He being patient and what is He waiting for? vs. 9 When He does choose to come back, what will it be like "suddenly"? vs.10 Since all of these things are going to happen in this way, how does Peter say we should be like as believers? vs.11,12 - Name 3 things According to His promises, what are we looking for at that time? vs. 13 Since we are looking for these things, what should we be diligent to be like when He comes? vs. 14 - Name 3 things How should we regard the patient of the Lord in putting off His return a bit longer? vs.15 What does Peter say about our beloved brother Paul and how they have addressed the same things to this same audience? vs. 15,16 When things are a little hard to understand in the Scriptures, what do the untaught and unstable people do to them, and what is the result of doing that? vs. 16 Knowing this beforehand, we need to be on our guard not to be "carried away" by the "error" of unprincipled men and fall from our own steadfastness. (vs.17)...What are we to continue to GROW in? vs. 18 - Name 2 things To Him - be the glory - both now and to the day of eternity - Amen !! As we finish Peter's 2nd letter, and the last letter he ever wrote, what will remain with you from it? Look back over all 3 chapters and give the main theme of this letter throughout.
