Note: In interpreting the next section of verses, we need to remember this has been written to the Hebrews (Jews). Some of them want to remain under the Jewish laws and not accept Jesus as the Messiah and the only sacrifice they need for salvation.

The author of Hebrews is reminding them that they have already endured a great amount of suffering because they have shared in the reproach of identification with Christ among the Jews. As a believer in Christ, we have the confidence to enter the Holy Place through faith in Him. We are not of those who would shrink away from Him, but we desire to draw near to Him through His grace. How will you draw near to Him today? What is your prayer?
