3.  There would also be horns on this altar and like the burnt offering altar, it was all to be of one piece of wood, not in sections.  Do you remember what the altar for burnt offerings was overlaid with and where it was located?  Try to answer without looking back, but of course look back if need be.

14.  Was there to be any difference between the rich and the poor in determining how much was to be given? vs. 15
15.  What was the atonement money to be used for? vs. 16
Note:  We all need atonement to be acceptable to the Lord whether we are rich or poor.  The amount was the same because the guilt is the same for all.  We all fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23).
16.  How have we been redeemed or 'bought back' for the Lord if we are believers in Jesus?
  • 1 Peter 1:17-19
17.  Back to Exodus 30.  After this, the Lord instructed Moses on making a laver of bronze, with a base of bronze, for the purpose of washing. (vs.17) This would be located after the Altar of Sacrifice but before entering the tent of meeting.  The priests would wash their hands and feet before they entered the tabernacle. 20.  Read 2 Corinthians 3:18.  How are we looking into a mirror spiritually day by day?
21.  Back to Exodus 30.  Next, the Lord told Moses to make an anointing oil that was used to anoint the furnishings and the priests for service.  What were the spices that were used in this anointing oil? vs. 22 - 24. Name 4 spices that was mixed with the olive oil.

(vs.30)  What was the message the Lord gave Moses to tell the sons of Israel about this anointing oil? vs. 32-33
24.  Next the Lord told Moses to make a powdered-type incense that would be put right next to the ark of the testimony when God would meet with them.  What are the names of the spices given that were to be in equal parts? vs. 34
25.  What 3 things does God say about this perfumed incense that would be used for His pleasure? vs. 35
26.  Take these 3 words and look up verses in the New Testament that describe the believer based on these same words.  We too are to be pure, holy, and with salt. Amen.
27.  They were not to try to make this perfumed incense for themselves in any manner.  What would happen to anyone who would try to do this? vs. 36-38
Application:
28.  Read Revelation 8:3-5.  This golden altar in heaven has incense burning before the Lord even now.  What are we told is "added" to the incense in these verses? How will our prayers be combined with others to bring about the final judgments of the Lord?
29.  The incense always represented prayer.  What did David say in Psalm 141:2?
30.  Just as the incense was to burn continually and never go out, what are we instructed to do in our prayers?  1 Thessalonias 5:17
We each must maintain our own altar of incense before the Lord within our hearts.  Once again, I like to get a visual in my mind of lifting my hands at the altar of incense before the throne of God.  Exciting isn't it?
31.  Summarize the chapter and post a prayer if you would like.
