Application:

 43.  Just as the silver trumpets were used to alert the sons of Israel that they were going on a journey ... or that an enemy was attacking ... or that a glad time was upon them, what  do trumpets still mean for us today?

  • Matthew 24:31 -
  • 1 Corinthians 15:52 -
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16 -
  • Revelation 1:10 -
  • Revelaton 4:1 -
  • Revelation 8:2 -

44.  Just as God has an organized way to come against the enemy, or to travel through times of trial through the wilderness, how does God organize and lead us today as the body of Christ?

  • Ephesians 4:7-16

45.  Moses wanted his father-in-law to accompany them on the journey through the wilderness as they made their way to the Promised Land.  Being a Midianite, his father-in-law would have knowledge that would help them; as Moses put it, he could be eyes for them.  He also wanted his father-in-law to see and experience the goodness of Israel's God.  Who do you want to "come along on the journey" with you?  Take time to pray for them today.

46.  I love the way this ends in praise from Moses to God, asking God to rise up against His enemies as they set out for the land of Promise.  They are going to face some very hard times, but if God is their banner, they can make it!  Amen?  What are your praises and requests to God today?

47.  Summarize this lesson and post a prayer if you would like.
