Ephesians Worksheet - Chapter 3

 



Ephesians 3 

  1. Who was Paul a prisoner of and why? vs. 1
  2. What was given to Paul for the Ephesians? vs. 2
  3. What was made known to Paul by revelation? vs. 3
  4. Paul had insight into the mystery of Christ. This mystery had been hidden in former generations. Who was the Spirit revealing the mystery to now? vs. 5
  5. By God's grace and the working of His power, Paul was made a minister to the Gentiles. What were the three things that were revealed about the hidden mystery concerning the Gentiles? vs.6-7 1)2)3)
  6. Paul considered himself to be least of all saints, but he knew God had given him the grace to preach to the Gentiles. What did he preach to them? vs. 8
  7. Paul also knew that he was called to bring to "light" the "administration" of "the mystery" (which had been hidden in God) for generations past.(vs.9) What is now made "known" through the church to the rulers and authorities in heavenly places? vs.9,10 Also read Colossians 1:25-27 - How does this parallel to what Paul is saying in Ephesians?
  8. Paul recognized that God was carrying out His eternal purposes in Christ. (vs.11) What did Paul say we have through faith in Christ? vs. 12
  9. What did Paul ask them not to lose heart over and why? vs. 13
  10. Paul stops to pray for the Ephesians. What does he tell them about every family in heaven and on earth? vs.14,15
  11. What did Paul pray for the Ephesians to be given by the riches of His glory? (vs.16)
  12. Paul prayed that Christ would dwell in their hearts through faith, and that they being rooted and grounded in love, might be able to comprehend (understand) 4 things about the love of Christ. What did he want them to understand? vs. 18
  13. In knowing the love of Christ in this way, what would they be filled up with? vs.19
  14. What is God able to do for us? vs. 20
  15. How does God accomplish this? vs. 20
  16. What 2 places contain the glory of God according to verse 21?
  17. How long shall we glorify Him? vs. 21
  18. As you think through this chapter, think about the purpose of the church in regard to the powers in heavenly places. We will grasp even more about this in Ephesians 6:12-18. If you have time, read that as well, and add it to your summary and prayer today.
