Hebrews, Chapter 13

 



Hebrews 13    

  1. What are we to let continue? vs. 1
  2. What are we not to neglect and why? vs. 2
  3. Have you ever had an encounter that you thought might be an angel? Would you like to share it with us?
  4. How are we to remember the prisoners? vs. 3
  5. Why should we relate to those who are ill-treated? vs. 3
  6. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled. What will happen to all fornicators and adulterers? vs. 4
  7. What are we to make sure our character is free from? vs. 5
  8. Why should we be content with what we have? vs. 5
  9. What can we confidently say? vs. 6
  10. Who are we to remember ... and as we consider the result of their conduct (literally 'the end of their life') -... what are we to imitate? vs. 7
  11. Fill in the blanks: "Jesus Christ is the same _____, & _____ & _____." (vs. 8 )
  12. What are we not to be carried away with? vs. 9
  13. What is good for the heart? vs. 9

    Note: We gather at the altar of grace, but those who are occupied with regulations concerning food, etc. do not have a right to eat at our table without access through Christ. (vs.9,10)
  14. What happened to the bodies of the animals who had their blood taken into the holy place by the high priest each year as an offering for sin? vs. 11
  15. Jesus also suffered "outside" the gate through His own blood to sanctify the people. (vs.12). Where does the author of Hebrews encourage us to go to identify with Christ and for what reason? vs. 13
  16. Like Abraham in chapter 11, we also do not have a lasting city here. What city are we seeking? vs. 14
  17. What are we to continually offer up as a sacrifice of praise to God through Jesus, our High Priest? vs. 15
  18. What sacrifices is God pleased with? vs.16 - Name 2 things
  19. Why should we obey our spiritual leaders and submit to them? vs. 17 ... How can we get the most benefit from this? ....
  20. What did the author of Hebrews and his companions feel sure about? vs. 18
  21. What did the author of Hebrews request from them? vs.18
  22. What did he urge the Hebrews to do as well and for what reason? vs. 19
  23. In verse 20, what is God called? _____ What is Jesus called? ______ What was brought to us through the blood of Jesus? _________
  24. What does God equip us in every good thing "to do"? vs. 21
  25. The author says this is a brief exhortation. (vs.22). He is talking about the entire letter we have studied in 13 chapters. What do you think? lol
  26. What are we told about Timothy and how that effects the author of Hebrews in regard to seeing them soon? vs. 23
  27. They are told to greet all their leaders and all the saints (vs.24). Where is the author of Hebrews when he sends this greeting to them? vs. 24
  28. What is the final blessing that the author gives to the Hebrews? vs. 25
  29. As the letter began with grace, and ends with grace, even with us being told that it is good for our hearts to be "strengthened in grace" (vs.9)....it would be good for us to look up the meaning of grace again. How can you strengthen your heart in grace today?
