  15. Describe what the 6th angel's bowl did to the Euphrates River and why. vs. 12
  16. When you look at a map of the Euphrates river, where would kings from the east be in respect to the land of Israel?

Note: The ultimate explanation is therefore relatively a simple one. By an act of God the Euphrates River is dried up. This makes easy the descent of the tremendous army of two hundred million men upon the land of Israel to participate in the final world conflict. If such an army is to be raised up, it would be natural to conclude that it would come from Asia, the great population center of the world. Although they seem to come in opposition to the Roman ruler and his power, it is clear that this invasion springs from unbelief and these armies like the others gathered “to the battle of that great day of God Almighty” forget their individual conflicts to oppose the coming of Jesus Christ in power and glory from heaven. The fact that the rise of Asia has occurred in our twentieth century with so many rapid and unexpected developments is another evidence that the world is moving toward its final climax and the end of the times of the Gentiles. In Asia, as in other parts of the world, the stage is being set for the final drama in which the kings of the east will have their important part. Taken from John F. Walvoord
  17. As the Euphrates was drying up, what did John see coming out of the mouth of the dragon (Satan), the beast (Antichrist), and the false prophet? vs. 13

  27. What happened to the cities of the nations during this earthquake? vs. 19
  28. What was happening to Babylon the Great? vs. 19
  29. What happened to every island and every mountain? vs. 20
  30. How much did the hailstones weigh that fell on men? vs. 21
  31. Will this severe plague cause the men to repent and turn to God? How will they react toward God when this happens? vs. 21

Note: Again the reaction of the world is not repentance, but to curse God because of His righteous judgment. How can people prepare to survive these times? They cannot survive them. The only way to prepare is to be prepared to die for our faith and to stand before God Almighty, one by one. True Christians will be raptured out of the wrath of God. There is debate about if they will go through some of the tribulation period or not. What really matters is preparation. How many times does the Lord say to "be ready"; to "be alert"? ....You may be asking how to make ourselves ready to meet the Lord .... Nothing we can do of ourselves can make us acceptable in His presence. All we can do, all we must do, is to accept the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ our sacrifice, and by believing be declared just in God's sight. ..... Are you prepared to face death? Will you be willing to die for your faith? Those who attempt to save their life by worshipping the beast, by bowing to his image or receiving his mark will surely die and be lost for all eternity. Those who give their life refusing to bow to Satan will live again, and spend eternity with the Lord their Creator. How will you prepare and how will you share this lesson with your neighbor?
  32. Summarize this chapter and post a prayer if you would like.
