Colossians Answers - Chapter 3

Colossians 3  Positionally, we have been raised up with Christ in the heavenly places where He is seated at the right hand of God. Therefore, what are we commanded to "set our mind" on? vs.1,2 As a Christian, we have died to our old life and our life is now "hidden" with Christ in God. We are part of the "mystery" now. Remember, it is "Christ in you, the hope of glory". What will happen when Christ, who is now our life, is revealed to us? vs. 3,4 Since these things are true, what should we consider our earthly body parts or members to be dead to? vs. 5 - Name 5 things and state what they truly amount to. What will the practice of these very things by the sons of disobedience bring about? vs. 6 Before we came to Christ, we once walked and lived in these attitudes. What is Paul also saying that we must choose to now lay aside? vs. 7-9 - Name 6 things What have we laid aside now that we are in Christ? vs. 9 What are we to "put on" and what is true about this? vs. 10 Who does this renewal in Christ include? vs. 10-11 As those who have been "chosen by God", as holy and beloved - what kind of heart does Paul say we are to now "put on"? vs. 12 - Name 5 things What 3 things are we to do concerning one another with Christ as our example? vs. 13 Beyond everything else that we have been told to "put on", what is the most important thing of all to be "dressed" in and why? vs. 14 We are to "let" the peace of Christ "rule" in our hearts, and be thankful. What else are we to "let" richly dwell within us? vs.15,16 When the Word of Christ richly dwells within us with all wisdom and teaching, what else is included in our time of worship? vs. 16 - Name 4 things. Who is to receive glory for every word and deed we do? vs. 17 What command is given to wives as is fitting in the Lord? vs. 18 What command is given to husbands? vs. 19 - Name 2 things. What command is given to children that is well-pleasing to the Lord? vs. 20 What command is given to fathers in regard to their children? What command is given to servants who have earthly masters? vs. 11 What command is given to all of us when we do work of any kind? vs. 23 Who are we serving in this life with our toils and who will our reward be from? vs. 24 When we do wrong, can we escape the consequences? Why or why not? vs. 25 Think upon today's lesson. Are we getting dressed properly day by day? It is a daily decision to "put aside" the old self and to "put on" the new self we have in the Lord Jesus. It effects our marriages, our families, and our employment.
