War of the Kings - Read vs. 1 - 9
Note: A coalition of raiding kings came from the east to war against a local coalition of city states. The Mari tablets indicate such an incident could only have taken place in this period of Palestine's history, for it was an age of coalitions. Archaeologists have even traced a string of Middle Bronze Age settlements along the route that Genesis indicates the invaders took and have named it King's Highway. (Richards' Complete Bible Handbook, P.49)

1. The valley of Siddim was full of tar pits.
