10.  When they were persecuted, what were they to do? vs. 23 -

The Meaning of Discipleship

11. He told them (and we are to know) that as disciples, we are to become like our Teacher (Jesus).  If they called Him Beezebel (ruler of evil spirits) - what can we expect to be called? vs. 24,25 -

He told them not to fear the men that would persecute them in this way.  He reassured them that all things will be revealed and made known.

12.  What they heard in the darkness, they were to:

What was whispered in their ears, they were to:

13.  Who were they not to fear? vs. 28 -

Who were they to fear and why?

Sparrows with very little value do not die without the Lord's knowledge.  He has the very hairs of our head numbered, so we have much value to Him.  Therefore, we are not to fear what man can do!

14.  If we confess Jesus before men, what will He do for us? vs. 32 -

15.  If we deny Jesus before men, what will He do? vs. 33 -

16.  What did Jesus come to earth to bring? vs. 34 -

17. Where will we find many of our enemies? vs. 35,36 -

Jesus is called the Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9:6.  In Luke 2:14 - The angel said at His coming as a newborn baby "On earth peace among men with whom He is well pleased" and in John 14:27 - Jesus said to His disciples "Peace I leave with you".

It is true that Christ brought peace between God and those men who believe in Him.  That is where the peace is.

Yet the inevitable result of Christ's coming is conflict.  His teachings 'divide' men into two camps like a sword; between light and darkness; between God's children and the children of the world.

18. What things would make us 'unworthy' of Christ? vs.37-38

1)     2)     3)

19. If we lose our 'own' life (identity) for Christ's sake, what will happen for us? vs. 39 -

20.  When they received a prophet in the name of a prophet, what would they receive?

When they received a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, what would they receive?

21.  What promise do we have if we give a small "humble" child (person) a cup of cold water to drink in the name of even a disciple of our Lord's?  vs. 42 -
