Yesterday, we were left with our Lord breathing His last on Calvary's cross for us. We saw the disciples full of fear and scattered. Jesus had told them He would raise from the grave on the 3rd day. They really didn't understand...
Jesus Is Risen!
1. A few days later, Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James, came to look at Jesus' grave.
What had happened? vs. 2

4. The angel told the women to not fear. Jesus had risen as He said He would! The angel told them to go quickly and tell His disciples that they would see Him in Galilee. How did the women respond? vs. 8 -
5. As they were going, Jesus met them and greeted them! Can you even begin to imagine? What did they do when they recognized Him? vs. 9 -
6. What were His Words to the women? vs. 10 -
7. While they were on their way to tell the disciples the good news, the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all that had happened. How did the religious leaders handle His resurrection to keep the people from believing it? vs. 11-15 -
The Great Commission
The eleven disciples (minus Judas who betrayed him and has now killed himself) .. proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain that Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
Jesus spoke to them what we call "The Great Commission". He said that all authority had been given to Him in heaven and on earth.
